Christmas Toy Giveaway Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Christmas Toy Giveaway?

Every December, children in communities that are vulnerable in Atlanta wait with excitement for the Atlanta Dream Center Christmas Toy Giveaway. In fact, some can’t even sleep the night before in anticipation to receive an assortment of gifts ranging from small and large toys, balls, and stocking stuffers.

That day is just around the corner and Atlanta Dream Center staff will be joined by volunteers, funders, and community members to show the love of Christ by hand delivering toys to children in at-risk neighborhoods. Christmas

Toy Giveaway blesses not only the children receiving the gifts, but their families as well, by opening doors for relationships that will continue for months to come.

The gifts are generously donated by churches, corporate sponsors, individual donors and other local businesses. Volunteers will be giving joy and good news as they create an environment where children, families and communities can experience the true meaning of Christmas.

What does a volunteer do?

During orientation, you will be introduced to your site leader who will guide you through every step of distributing toys to the children. Upon arriving at your volunteer location, your site leader will assign you a specific responsibility. You could be registering families as they arrive, personally delivering toys, escorting families through fun stations, or engaging with children during the block party. Mostly, you will enjoy the laughter while the children open their gifts. After the gifts have been opened, you will have the opportunity to spend additional time with all of the families and children.
